Traveling Program, Switzerland 2019.

For over 20 years, Rice Design Alliance has offered a rich architecture and design traveling program, as well as tours of some of Houston’s most interesting architectural examples.

Our national and international Traveling Program is amongst the top in the country to lead exclusive design and architecture-focused trips. Under the expert guidance of Rice Architecture faculty, architects, curators, and architectural historians from around the world, we offer two yearly destinations to our members with unprecedented access to both the hidden spaces and most iconic buildings in some of the world’s most design-forward cities. Studio visits with local designers and architecture firms and private visits with key stakeholders in each city, provide the design-curious with a fun and profound understanding of the cultural scene of each of the cities we visit.

Our travels have taken us all over the globe looking at cities from the lens of architecture and design, from Pittsburgh to Portugal, from Savannah to Spain, from Boston to Berlin, Helsinki, Chicago, Buenos Aires, Marfa, Japan or Detroit.

Our Houston architecture and hard hat tours have introduced Houstonians to residential, closed to the public, and under construction spaces across town over the past twenty years.
