Jack Self, director of the REAL Foundation (London), presents the lecture "Attitude as Form" at 7:00 p.m. at the MATCH as part of the PLAT and Rice Design Alliance Lecture Series: Sharing and the Cullinan Lecture and Seminar Series.

Self is an architect and writer based in London. He is also editor-in-chief of the Real Review. In 2016, he curated the British Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale.

Self's architectural design focuses on alternative models of ownership, contemporary forms of labour, and the formation of socio-economic power in relationships in space. His work has been widely shown, including at the Maxxi, Tate Britain, ICA and Design Museum. His writing has appeared in The Guardian, eflux, 032c, the BBC, Frieze, CNN, and elsewhere.

Self's first book Real Estates: Life Without Debt is now in its second printing. He was previously Contributing Editor for Architectual Review (2009-2017) and Editor-at-Large for 032c (2014-2018). Jack is a registered architect (ARB).

The Cullinan Lecture and Seminar Series is made possible through the generous support of the Cullinan endowment and the Betty R. and George F. Pierce Jr., FAIA, Fund.

The Rice Design Alliance 2018 Fall Lecture Series: Sharing is organized in collaboration with PLAT journal, with generous funding provided by the Humanities Research Center and the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies' GradStarter program.
