2016 Spotlight Prize Goes to Cadaval & Solà-Morales

The eighth annual Spotlight Prize will be awarded to Cadaval & Solà-Morales. Co-founders Eduardo Cadaval and Clara Solà-Morales will visit Houston on Wednesday, September 7, to accept the prize and give a lecture at The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

Founded in 2003, the firm has offices in Barcelona and Mexico City. Cadaval & Solà-Morales bring a full consideration of context and history to bear on their stunning projects, which range from the residential to the ephemeral:

Eligible honorees for Spotlight must be within their first 15 years of professional practice. The RDA Spotlight committee convenes annually to consider local, national, and international architects who demonstrate design excellence and promise a great design future. Spotlight Prize winners in previous years include OUALALOU+CHOI, 5468796, Interboro Partners, Pezo von Ellrichshausen, LA DALLMAN, Sou Fujimoto, and Antón García-Abril.
